The Prettiest of all Floral Crowns: A Stunning Vision of Colour

Guys this was a long time coming but OH EM GEE!!! Am I ever excited to showcase these beautiful photos today. This shoot is really a testament to the amazing work that florist and friendor Bilqees Quick of Zuhoor Designs is able to do!

Bilqees created a stunning floral crown and necklace that just made my creative soul squeal with joy (okay I tend to be dramatic lol but that is best how I can describe it hehe).

The colours of the flowers used in the floral crown were simply amazing. The brilliant shades of purple were absolutely mesmerizing. Purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition and I feel this shoot exudes that. Just seeing this colour is sure to put you in a happier mood and gets you thinking about spring again! Guys remember spring??? lollll The joke is on all of us Canadians right about now I guess hehe (It literally is a snow day right now in Toronto as half the city is pretty much shut down due to the snow storm).

Our lovely model Mariam modeled the floral crown to perfection. Go follow her instagram at @hijabinextdoor. Mariam also did her fabulous Make-up by herself.

If you are still looking for a florist for your wedding or simply for a celebratory photoshoot then get in touch with her at www.zuhoordesigns.com or on her instagram page @zuhoordesigns

I for one recommend everyone who is able to, get a floral crown made and get a photoshoot done wearing that crown does so at least once in their life! Go ahead you deserve it! :P

A "Love Letters" Themed Inspirational Shoot at Mint Room Studios and High Park

Hi Hi Hi!!!! Happy 2019!

Oh my gosh am I ever excited to present today’s blog post to you all! I did a styled shoot with a lovely team of vendors and the photos turned out so beautiful.

Our theme for this shoot was "love letters". I was inspired by film photography to create photos that look like they have been shot with film. Though the photos were all shot digitally they were edited to look like they might have been taken with a film camera (of course we were also lucky with the lighting conditions as that is crucial to having bright and airy film photography type photos).

A dusty blue colour palette was chosen for this shoot and our stylist from Pink and White Events, along with our decor provider Vintage Belle Rentals utilized a number of vintage inspired items such as the beautiful golden edged frames and trays to create a stunning backdrop for the photos. Our Calligrapher (Jovie of Pinya Letters) created special "love note" calligraphy pieces that were featured on mirrors, frames and traditional paper "letters" of course.

Our florist Lovely Blooms designed a chic bouquet featuring beautiful white florals and eucalyptus leaves, along with other types of green foliage. The cake was a pretty dusty blue and gold accented beauty, with florals adding the finish touch, The cake designer Nazia of La Patissiere really made sure that every thing looked perfect before I could take a shot with the cake!

Our dress designer Kate of Hollie X Kate conceived a classically "simple but stylish" flowy dress with a cute lace top piece. The Makeup artist for this shoot Prerna of Prerna and Co. kept the model's look very natural and timelessly beautiful with a subtle pop of colour in the lips. The video for this shoot which was creatively shot and edited by Anum of Anum Fotos can be found in the link at the end of the blog post. Our locations for the shoot were at Mint Room Studios (The Lounge Room) and High Park (which we chose due to it being 1. So Beautiful! and 2. A seven minute drive away from Mint Room)

2019 Brides to be! I hope you can find some inspiration from this shoot! It’s simple but oh so elegantly beautiful. One does not have to spend a ton to have a beautiful intimate wedding.

Details from Mufleha and Aizaz's Wedding

Hi Hi Everyone! Hope you are all enjoying this fabulous Saturday we are having! Today I get to blog about one of my summer weddings! I am unable to share actual photos of the people in this shoot due to client privacy but am sharing the beautiful decor and details of the shoot! My favourite part about this wedding was the grand decor and backdrop. Desi weddings are always so colorful and I have been very fortunate to cover a lot of them (I love my desi clients!). I will tell you one thing from a photographer’s standpoint you can never get bored at a Desi wedding from the decor to the bridal looks (all that sparkle makes for gorgeous bokeh filled photos) to the food. There is so much vibrance to capture and the resulting galleries end up being so beautiful!

Portraits from Angela and Andrew's Wedding

Hi Everyone! Today am sharing a few portrait images from Angela and Andrew’s Toronto wedding which took place at Tyndale University College! I loved the landscape at this venue with its beautiful greenery and dreamy rolling hills I could not believe we were in Toronto!

Hope you enjoyed this post! Catch you at the next one!

Details from I and M's Wedding

Hello, Everyone!

Welcome to my latest blog post featuring details from I and M's wedding! This stunning wedding took place at the Apollo Convention Centre which is one of the nicest banquet halls in the G.T.A. The bride had two entrances (one in a Sari and another in a white dress) and opted to do a first look session with her husband inside the beautifully decorated reception hall right before the doors opened to guests. The "First look" and "Couples portraits" photos turned out really beautiful (unfortunately I cannot share the identifying photos due to client privacy). As a wedding day tip, I would highly suggest that couples do a first look on their wedding day! I mean... it is always exciting for the bride and the groom, and of course for me, the photos turn out so beautiful! The wedding was a lively one with many guests enjoying the various festivities of the evening including the buraanbur (traditional Somali wedding event), great food, lively dancing and a belly dancer who dazzled the crowd with a sword in her hand. In terms of decor, Sultana of Sultana's Wedding Decor certainly created a unique masterpiece for this wedding, one that made for such a lovely backdrop for the photos!

Z and M's Wedding Details

Hi Hi Hi! Welcome to another post on my blog! Can you believe we are already in April! I know I know, by the looks of it outside today and this ehheem "Ice Storm" we might as well be in February. Anyway weather talk aside, I am so excited to share this blog post featuring details from my first wedding of this year! The bride came all the way from Edmonton to have her beautiful wedding in our city! One thing I absolutely loved about this wedding was the amount of time the bride gave me to take her getting ready shots and portraits. I started off the wedding day by taking getting ready and detail shots at the double tree hotel and because we started the day early I was able to utilize beautiful natural light, streaming in from the large windows for the getting ready portion of the day resulting in gorgeous photos! Future clients take note! These are two integral things for me as a wedding photographer when it comes to wedding day photos; Time and utilizing natural light. I have said it many times before! Making sure to give your photographer time to do their job is integral especially when it comes to portraits. We photographers really cannot do much in 10 minutes. If you prioritize your wedding day photos then please do make sure to give us the time to do our job by scheduling it in your wedding day timeline and also prioritizing that time! I am currently offering free timeline assistance for Summer 2018 weddings so if you are still looking for a photographer then get in touch!

The love of family and friends was so evident at this stunning wedding. The bride had eight bridesmaids and they all looked stunning in their beige diraacs! I appreciated that one of them (out of love for her friend) was making sure that I did my job correctly lol, she also was very kind to assist me with the details and organizing family members during the family portraits! In my opinion that is what a good bridesmaid should do!

Another element of this wedding that I truly loved was the beautiful decor that was done by The Wedding Boutique! Guys the details were so on point and to die for! They are truly professionals at their work and the owner is so friendly!

Due to client privacy I can only share non-identifying photos from this beautiful wedding! Until next time enjoy these beautiful detail photos!
