East African Styled Shoot (Brides of the Horn) Featured in the current issue of Today's Bride magazine!

Hi Hi Hi Everyone! So excited to share my latest blog post! I did a styled shoot last year with an amazing group of vendors. The theme of this shoot was “Brides of the Horn”. This East African themed shoot was dreamt up by wedding planner Nia, of Weddings with Nia. I was honoured to be asked to be the photographer and videographer for the shoot. A big thank you to everyone who did such an amazing job on this shoot! Please do check out the work of all the vendors involved in this shoot and support them as well! Something quite lovely about this shoot is that we were recently featured in the current issue of Canada’s leading bridal magazzine “Today’s Bride”. You can see the e-magazine by clicking the link below or even better if you live in Canada go out and get yourself a copy (now available in stores near you such as at shoppers and chapters)!

Safia and Abdurahman's "Golden Elegance" Wedding

Hi Hi Hi! It's been a while but welcome to my latest blog post! This wedding took place at the Verdi Convention Centre in the West end of Toronto. I can only share details from this wedding due to client request but as usual the details were beautiful! The colour scheme for this wedding was filled with touches of gold, and it all looked so elegant. The bride had two entrances and opted for a most lovely Sari for her first entrance while her bridesmaids wore a simple but chic Diraq (traditional Somali outfit)! For the second entrance, the bride wore a lovely white dress with a a gorgeous low cut back.  Some interesting things about this wedding were that it featured the traditional Buranbur (A Somali traditional dance circle) and some live Somali Singers. One really cool thing though was the custom ice sculpture that was done by Nandasins, a man who took second place (if I remember correctly) at last year's Bloor-Yorkville Ice Sculpture competition (see last photo in blog post for image of ice-sculpture)! Nandasins and his wife also cater desserts and were at the event at the time, setting up their dessert stand. I had a quick chat with him and that's how I found out about him being a past winner of the Ice sculpture competition. All in all the details from this wedding were beautiful and I think it serves as a beautiful inspiration for those thinking of going with Gold as part of their Wedding colour scheme!

I still have dates open for summer weddings up until the date of September 1st. Get in touch if you are still looking for a photographer.

Details from I & F's wedding

Hey Everyone! Glad to have you here! I am uber excited about today's blog post! I can only share details due to client privacy but I just absolutely love how much thought was put into the little details at this wedding. Everything from the bride's dress to the sweet table at the reception was amazing! I also think I am now in love with "Blush Pink" as a wedding colour. A little backstory; the bride was one of the first people to give me a chance when I was first starting out with wedding photography by booking me for her friend's wedding a few years back. It was nice to come full circle and capture her wedding this time around MashAllah. Enjoy the blog post!

On a side note I am currently booking 2017 weddings at 2016 rates up until January 1st 2017! Fill out the contact form on the contact page to get access to the client lounge where you will find my pricing and FAQs as well as vendor info.

Najma and Abdulghani's Great Gatsby Themed Wedding

Hi Everyone. Hope you all had a most glorious week! Can't believe it is July and weddings will soon be back on the swing again after the Ramadan Break. I have been catching up on my edits but thought I should blog one of the weddings I did from last year as I really loved capturing it and noticed I never actually blogged about it (although you will notice a few of the photos are in the portfolio section of my site)!

So a little about this wedding; It was a Great Gatsby themed wedding and the bride Najma and her husband are both of Somali Heritage who live in the United States. If you can believe it Najma literally organized everything here in Toronto which I have to personally say is quite impressive MashAllah. Enjoy the post!
