Hi Everyone!

Happy Fall! I am so happy to be starting off the Fall season with this blog post featuring the wedding of Somali Canadian couple Jamad and Loyan. It was definitely one of my absolute favourite weddings of last year. Planned by Weddings With Nia, It was a wedding certainly deserving of a standing ovation, and that she did get (by the bride and groom, guests and us vendors) at the end of the evening! Thank you to my lovely second shooter Shahzia for assiting me on this day! I am also super excited to share that this wedding was featured on the latest issue of Munaluchi Bride Magazine which was just released the other day! How cool!!! It’s awesome to see representation from Canadian Vendors (and black/ African vendors at that) on an international magazine focused on multicultural weddings. I am always honoured when couples ask me to take their anniversary images. Munira contacted me to take her wedding anniversary photos with her husband, months in advance of the date. She told me she had been watching my work for a while and just had to have me take her anniversary photos. I was truly honoured that she considered me to take these special images!

These images were taken in August of last year. We started the shoot off at the unique Preto loft studio. Munira wore a gorgeous satin pastel pink dress that had an elegant flow to it and her husband’s outfit complimented hers quite nicely. They honestly gave off such regal vibes! Preto Loft is always a joy to shoot at and makes for an excellent setting. Later on we headed to Edwards gardens for the second half of the shoot which we got to do during golden hour, and the light was absolutely glorious! MashAllah!
